Structure
The Fund operates on a fixed term of six years and is open to investors who qualify under Wholesale or Sophisticated status.
Investment in the Bloodstock Fund is open to wholesale investors by invitation only. Eligibility criteria and minimum investment amount thresholds apply and are outlined in the Information Memorandum. Asset mix
Over the six-year period, investment in the Fund will be spread across 30-35 assets comprising both yearlings and stallions. The portfolio will be diversified by including a broad mix of assets across lifecycle stage, bloodlines, valuations and risk rating. Assets will be continually monitored and evaluated throughout the Fund’s term, with sales and acquisitions occurring on an ongoing basis to improve the Fund’s overall position.
Asset acquisition
Assets in the Fund are acquired using a rigorous approach encompassing physical confirmation, pedigree evaluation, commercial value and risk ratings. Evaluation of the stock is based on each horse’s investment attributes and characteristics, and their overall contribution to the Fund’s position.
Each horse is considered for conformation, pedigree, past performance, health records (including x-rays, scopes and other analysis) and potential market demand.
There are three stages of due diligence within the acquisition process with final approval required from the investment committee. Key partners are brought in to advise on valuations, examinations and risk assessment.
Sales and acquisitions will occur in both publicly held and online auctions, with stallion acquisitions made directly for current off the track racing stock privately.
Expert management and care
The fund will engage experienced managers and veterinarians to oversee the selection, care, and training of every horses in the portfolio. Emphasis is placed on maintaining optimal health and performance to maximize the horses' value over the life of the fund.
Monitoring and risk management
Continuous monitoring of market conditions, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics will allow the fund to make timely adjustments to its portfolio. This proactive approach will allow the Fund to capitalise on emerging opportunities as well as mitigate potential risks.
